Fall: that special time of year where everything becomes “pumpkin-flavored” and smells like apple-cinnamon. I’m not sure why so many people (including myself) get so hyped up over autumn. Maybe it’s because fall is the first real drastic change in season since spring? Or maybe it’s because we all just want to roll around in dried leaves and sip cider? Not sure, but whatever the reason, I love this time of year.
And because I love it so much, I want to decorate my house with all the things that remind me of the season. Why? Because it’s fun, and easy! But if you’re like me, you might need a little inspiration to get you headed in the right direction. So here’s 10 fall-tastic mantels I found and wanted to share with you. You can thank me later 😉
This is one of the first mantels I found during my “research” and it’s simply beautiful. The entire arrangement is made up of simple items that each reflect a little piece of fall. From the colors to the patterns, everything coordinates and makes this mantel a great centerpiece for the area. Can’t you see yourself sitting in front of this fireplace?
Perhaps the reason why I love this particular mantel so much is because it reminds me of my own fireplace. Everything carries a certain rustic quality, enhancing the beauty of the stone fireplace. The combination of the lanterns and the candles aide a soft light making you want to snuggle up on the couch with a big blanket and your favorite book. Oh, and something warm to drink. Maybe even something pumpkin-flavored?
While it is similar to the first example, this fireplace decor focuses a little more on the mantel and less on the accent pieces. By using artificial leaves and pumpkins, you can easily recreate this look for just a little money and a little effort. And the great thing is that you’ll be able to reuse these decorations for next year!
Another great example of simple touches that give a big impact! With the help of a few items and the right colors, this mantel is ready to go for the fall season. The addition of the letter lends a personal touch and is a great eye-catching element. Nothing about this particular idea is difficult and would be a quick way to add a little spice to your living room.
Of course, if you’d rather “go big or go home,” this is a good example for your to follow. Pumpkins and leaves practically cover the entire fireplace, and it’s fantastic! She even decided to add a few spiders and crows, giving a nod to the Halloween season as well.
In contrast to the previous few mantels, I just had to show you this one. I am in love with it! There is nothing complex or cluttered about it. Just lovely, clean lines and a classy finish. Because of the stark appearance of the white fireplace surrounded by white furniture, very little was needed to create a dramatic scene. The tiny pumpkins on the mantel give the right balance, adding a pop of color to an otherwise colorless room. If you have a light-colored room, you may want to consider doing this.
If you’re looking for more than the traditional fall look, check out this modern take on the season. While this technically isn’t a fireplace, they did create a “mantel,” and it looks wonderful. There isn’t even a real fire or candles. The display of white pumpkins, greenery, and gold blend together for a welcoming atmosphere. This may just make you rethink your decorating approach.
And speaking of rethinking your approach, how does black and gold sound? While black is a traditional Halloween color, the addition of gold makes for an interesting layout. There’s something rather appealing to all this. Take this color concept and run with it. Add it to other areas of the house, such as the dining room and kitchen. You could even implement it outside in your exterior decorations! Black and gold could be a fun way to change up the usual.
If you’re looking for a more traditional Halloween mantel, this is a perfect example. Ghosts, pumpkins, and a witch all scream Halloween and you really can’t get any closer than this. The idea of replacing candles/fire with the pumpkins is unique and was easily done with the use of a few pedestals, for added interest.
Of course, if you really want to go all-out, you have got to recreate this masterpiece! This could be great for parties and would be fun for kids. I had to show you this one because it’s simply fun to look at!
I hope you enjoyed seeing a few inspirations for your own mantel. Hope you have fun and go crazy with it. Happy fall!
